Humanitarian and Social Sciences Faculty was founded in July, 2007 on the basis of Kutaisi Educational-Scientific Center of Tbilisi State University of Economic Relations.
Humanitarian and Social Sciences Faculty of Tbilisi State University of Economic Relationsprovides three types of bachelor’s and master’s degree programs: Humanitarian Sciences, Social Sciences and Law.
Humanitarian Sciences Program offers the following fields:
- Foreign Languages and Literature (English, German)
The program of Foreign Languages and Literature is based on traditional methods of language teaching as well as it promotes innovative technologies and teaching methodology to support high-level language skills acquisition and in-depth understanding of the relevant culture and society. The program in Foreign Languages and Literature enables students:
- To obtain general knowledge in humanitarian sciences, to acquire a high level of linguistic proficiency in a language and literature ;
- To have an understanding of new approaches in science and to study aspects of culture, thought, society and institutions:
- To obtain and use new information, to identify problems and to find the ways and means to solve the problems;
- To acquire skills to analyze and synthesize factual material;
- To understand Acts of Law and Legal Documents;
- To be able to oppose in a constructive way, to demonstrate personal skills in writing and orally, to possess self-critical skills.
Graduates receive Bachelor’s and Master’s Academic degree
Social Sciences program offers the following fields:
Program of Economics is oriented on the basic university education, theory of Economics, and preparation of qualified professionals in the sphere of economics, who will be able to effectively use modern methods and technologies to provide economic activities in the country and on the international level, in private and state sectors.
Principal goals of this field are:
- To study compulsory environmental, social, political, economic and management, to acquire university and professional education in accordance with modern requirements;
- To study special disciplines for the professional efficiency in accordance with modern requirements.
- To master modern technologies of economic and management analysis;
- To enhance analytical thinking and creative approach, to develop skills for independent theoretical research, etc.
Graduates receive Bachelor’s and Master’s Academic degree in Social Sciences.
Principle purpose of Journalism is to prepare acting journalists and researchers of mass communication; to provide students with skills necessary for professional practice. A graduate is ready to demonstrate professional skills for the sake of society and to meet the following requirements: diverse, urgent, complete and reliable information delivery; analysis of current social problems; expression and formation of the common sense. The objects of the professional activity are the material for printing media, radio and television, informational agencies, advocacy and public relation services.
Graduates receive Bachelor’s and Master’s Academic degree in Social Sciences.
